Where do I
start!
There are several brands of thermostats on the
market. Basic models will do heat only. The next stup up will do
Heating and Cooling functions and generally have a manual switch
for the fan or blower on the furnace.
Beyond the basics above there are digital models
from most manufacturers which may be non-programmable or a
programmable medel. As a contractor, I have seen that most
programmable models are popular for the digital readout, but the
programming mode is usually over ridden and the stat is used in the
manual position. They can take a little time to learn the
functions, but most are not hard and save you money.
