We are one of the few companies left
who will work on your oil furnace. There is not a more
controversial form of heat, but we like them! We would like to
offer a few thoughts, so you and your furnace can get
along!
- Fuel oil is less expensive then LP gas to
run
- Buy your fuel in the summer when it is less
expensive
- Fuel oil comes in two grades, #1 and #2. Make
sure you are using the correct blend for your unit. (No gasoline in
that tank please!)
- Very cold weather may cause the fuel to thicken
if you have an outside tank. Wrap your lines and keep the tank out
of the wind. There are also tank additives which I highly recommend
for customers with outdoor tanks. These products also help with
water in the tank, which may collect in the fuel lines and cause
them to freeze.
- There are more parts which wear out on a fuel
oil furnace. They should be checked regularrly. Watch out, if you
are a do it yourselfer! There are 10,000 volts coming out of that
transformer!
- If you are experiencing the smell of oil in the
home, be concerned. You may have a leak, a cracked or
plugged heat exchanger. Call for service right away!
- Improper adjustment of you unit could cause
double the fuel usage and sometimes smoke up the house
beyound belief!
- Many people think the oil furnace is like an old
car and have an attitude that they can fix it. In the long run,
it will cost you more!
- If you call for service, please mention that you
have a fuel oil furnace. We only stock one of our trucks for oil
service.
- Remember that we understand your
furnaces temperament and will be glad to help!
